I like this...

I love the timing you used in the piano rhythms. My only advice would be to use some effects/mastering to unify the tracks. Sorry if that was the intent, but the piano track seems very separate from the rest of the sound. I would suggest a bit of reverb on the piano to put it in the same atmosphere, and then a slight bit of compression on the whole track.

Kirbyfemur responds:

I wish i could get the midi file from when i originally made it. My computer that i used to make this died along with a few other of my songs. If i could get them off of that computer i'd love to fix this song up with my better knowledge of mixing, but sadly this is the best it'll sound for now. Thank you for your review =3

I love it...

What software did you use to do the glitch effects? Nice job!

NaaaB responds:

Hey ! DbBlueGlitch, its a really good freeware ! Thanks for review ;)

Intense

Sorry dumb people like to zero bomb scores. I'll be interested to hear more of your album. I like the way the intro and this song fit together, and it sounds like a really good setup. Good work!

You got it...

For not knowing what Dub Step is you pretty much hit it right on the head. It's like a slower darker psychedelic electronic music. It's all about bass and keeping a rhythmic flow so the listener feels like they're going somewhere.

Quarl responds:

yay! The intro to that first song reminded me of every dieselboy mix I've ever heard. Thanks for the links btw.

YES!

It's nice to hear something quality in the Hip Hop category on NG. Good job!

mseemercury responds:

thx i really appreciate it

Very nice...

When this song gets remixed it's really hard not to compare this one with the paragonX9's version, but this is really good. It casts it in a different light, and that makes it original.

DJtheSdotcom responds:

Holy...you can never compare me to paragonX9...never...
She's so awesome, and I mean ALL of her songs...
If I ever want to be as good as she is, I have to improve A LOT.
But nobody's gonna stop me from getting better.
I WILL improve.
Thank you very much for the comment!

Nice flow...

I like the creativity used with rhythm here...

Fr0zEnPh0eNiX responds:

Thank you.

Standard rhythms aren't nearly as fun as experimental ones. Maybe not necessarily to listen to though.

Carries a story...

Your writing style is very vivid in presenting a musical story. I like it a lot. My only question is what happened in the end? You didn't leave me suspended, but I don't feel fully resolved. If that's your intent then I it seems to be one of those intriguing endings you have to think about.

magic585 responds:

thank you very much! its funny, when i wrote it i wasn't thinking about carrying a story at all, i was just stringing together as lot of ideas, but when i revisited it yesterday (which was like two years after i wrote it) i thought it had a kind of storyline too... which is why i played it how i did, and why i gave it the weirdo title!

i kind of see what you mean with the end. i guess i was trying to make it quitely come full circle rather than give it a grand finale, but it may have been more satisfying if i raised the volume on the last couple of chords...

thanks for the feedback!

Really delivers the scene...

I didn't even need your description there to get the idea. I like that, you really captured it. One thing I get from this is that those rays that break through the clouds seem to completely overpower the storm, and it isn't until the end that one even remembers that there are clouds there.

Waterflame responds:

Thats great! :) glad it comes across ^^ thank you!

Good song...

I think the length is perfect to give the song just the right flow of complexity. It has that dark imaginative ambiance instead of an outright scary one. I like that a lot. When I heard it I immediately thought of this NIN instrumental song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSO_GP IF3Xg I think the flow is very similar. Don't take that as a bad thing, I think certain types of ambiance have rhythms and chords that are natural to them. Good job!

Randomizor responds:

Thanks. =P

I'm a classically trained pianist and composer that also enjoys using modern music technology. My music is usually played on keyboard (I use a Kawai Stage Piano) and edited in Reason. It's all about making the music sound exactly as imagined...
